Teaching Highlight

The microscopy facility in the College of Arts & Sciences provides excellent opportunities for students to master modern imaging technologies. For example, those in BIO 4564/5564 (Microscopy) are currently studying wide-field fluorescence and laser scanning confocal microscopy (see photos). Following spring break, they will begin exploring biological electron microscopy. Other courses utilizing the microscopy facility include BIO 4552/5552 (Entomology), CHE 4800 (Forensic Microscopy), GES 3264 (Paleontological Lab and Analytical Methods), GES 3715 (Petrology & Petrography), PHY 5860 (Physical Principles Electron Microscopy), etc.
